She bought a house!

Editor and Hoosier daughter has now bought a house.  I guess she's staying there awhile.  The bird has flown our nest and found a nest of her own (plus a few temporary ones), which is successful parenting to my way of thinking!

It does seem like just yesterday that she was a baby and we brought her home from the hospital.  Time flies, especially when you have kids!  To quote one of my favorite songs - "Is this the little girl I carried?......Wasn't it yesterday when they were small?  Sunrise, sunset, sunrise, sunset, swiftly flow the days...."  (There's always a song for the occasion.)

Maybe if I do short posts, I'll do so more often........ :-)

Oh dear, I missed another year.  Posting every two years is not good! :-)  And I love to write so you'd think I'd do this more often......

I'm so disappointed in our Republican Ohio senator, Rob Portman.  I really thought we had a good conservative in office now, until his recent statement of support for so-called homosexual marriage.  So sad.  Allowing emotions to rule can cloud your judgment.  I understand showing support for loved ones even when they do wrong, but that doesn't mean declaring wrong to be right.  Traditional marriage (or as some of us call it - "biblical marriage") is the best foundation for the family which is the backbone of our country.  We are "slouching towards Gomorrah", as Robert Bork put it.

Our leaders need our prayers more than ever..................

First post of the year - oh dear!

So I haven't posted for 2 years. Oh my, what happened to 2010? I guess I'm just not in the blogging habit yet, unlike dear daughter.

I have a book at the library waiting for me which should be fascinating. It's the story of a woman who witnessed the shooting of her parents at a young age and what God does in her life after that. "The Devil in Pew Number 7" is the title, and it's available at the local library - after I'm done with it. :-)

I just finished another book, also non-fiction, "Public Education against America" by Marlin Maddoux. I can't imagine anyone wanting to send their kids to the public/government schools after reading it. Next book is "Brainwashed" by Ben Shapiro - all about the leftist, liberal indoctrination students get at the universities. It's probably best to be self-educated at the rate things are going.

Today is 100 days away from election day in November.

I'm a Simon & Garfunkel album!

Take the quiz and see what album you are!

One down, two to go!

One daughter has graduated from homeschool! We actually had a graduation ceremony for her (around 50 attended!) and our youth pastor was her commencement speaker. It doesn't take long to graduate one person so it was fairly quick. Then we went on to the party! We had several friends come from out of town as well as family so she got to visit with lots of people. Everyone seemed to have a good time, and cousins on one side were able to play with cousins on the other side. Some of my family hadn't seen my DH's family since we got married!

Afterwards family members still in town came to our house and we watched daughter open graduation cards and gifts. She got lots of purple stuff (her favorite color). I hope her college roommate likes purple too!

Two more to go now! :-)
